POKOTABI / Green Beans Coffee
グリーンビーンズコーヒー
Choose 2 house-roasted coffees for a tasting, or enjoy a gluten-free plate with rice-flour focaccia. Apple pie is another tempting match for coffee.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
For a coffee experience that begins with choosing your beans, try the house-roasted coffee tasting. Pick 2 from fruity, mild and bitter profiles, then compare them brewed by hand using beans roasted in-house. The menu lists this as a weekday-only offering, served with either homemade mini focaccia or a mini chocolate. If you are unsure which beans to choose, staff can offer guidance based on that day’s roasting. Diners have enjoyed finding a hand-drip coffee to suit their taste, and some have been surprised by how the shape of the cup can change the way the same coffee tastes. This is a place that invites you to notice not only the beans, but also the brewing method and the vessel.
For a different approach to brewing, consider the premium Paragon coffee. The menu describes its “Extract Chilling” method, in which the coffee touches an ice rock at the beginning of extraction. Choose from fruity, mild, bitter or decaffeinated.
For a meal, there is a gluten-free set plate with options such as sautéed pork or grilled chicken, accompanied by a seasonal vegetable salad, rice-flour focaccia and a seasonal side dish. One diner who ordered the plate for lunch singled out the focaccia’s satisfyingly chewy texture. Choose pork, chicken or a seasonal main, making it an option for a more substantial meal as well as a chance to ask what is in season. For a lighter lunch or café break, try the croissant sandwich with smoked salmon, avocado and Camembert. One diner found it generously filled; another enjoyed the croissant’s crisp yet tender texture and the avocado, with some pieces of fruit still intact.
For something sweet, order the apple pie with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Diners have said it pairs well with the gentle bitterness of cold brew, while others have enjoyed it with hand-drip coffee.
